"A creative artist works on his next composition because he was not satisfied with his previous one."
— Dmitri Shostakovich
I never want to create music commercially, I'll work on friend's projects, on my projects, but never as my primary career. That is not to say I don't want to be a great musician, quite the opposite, I think if I were reliant on my music financially it would limit me, I'd stop taking risks, stop making music for music's sake.
If I only work on the projects that I choose then I can continue towards greater and greater musicianship. Feeling forever as all good artists do, Unsatisfied.
Modern Jazz isn't what I was expecting when writing the first track in this LP, which started as a dramatic classical piece destined for a film score. If music could be sponsored by coffee, this EP would be first in line, as coffee is what fuelled these compositions.
Each film I make I also write the music for, often it's left until last, and often it serves the story more than itself. But here they are all the same, un-edited.
Some musical themes from characters and larger projects I'm orchestrating which may sound more polished will be up over the next few weeks.
The Incidents EP
Four melancholy modern-classical pieces that attempt to capture the feeling of being in a traumatic, sad or outrageous incident. Hence the name.
Most of the shenanigans I get up to with Logic Pro isn't music, but teaching myself new techniques or experimenting with sound, any notable experiments will be shoved in here.
